I have the 4 speed with hi/lo manual trans, bough it new in 2002 and only limited use with no problems until today. I got on the dozer to move it and the clutch would not work anymore. I took the floor panel off to make sure the linkage was working and found the shaft was turning with typical pedel pressure but not clutch. I need to know what I am up aginst? Pull the motor? any other way to check why the clutch is not working (froze up) while just setting for 2 days?
I was able to move it by putting in in 1st low and pressing in on both clutch/brake pedels, but the main clutch is still stuck!

I don't know the proper term, it's the shaft that goes through the bellhousing. The pedel, linkage and the bell housing shaft all turn like they should, but the clutch will not release. I know on my tractors there is a inspection plate on the bottom side, so you can see and lube the throw out bearing. I don,t know if the dozer has one of these or will I have to take the motor out to see whats going on?

Do you have a parts manual? There is an exploded view of the clutch assembly in it.
My guess is that it sat for quite awhile without being started (way more than a month), the pressure plate and disc stuck to the flywheel so much as to cause one of the roll pins in the cross shaft to shear. There are two of them. If you are lucky it's the one on the outside, if not, it's the one on the inside (holding the yoke) and the engine will have to be removed. Sorry.
