I have a 254II Lenar tractor made by the Jangling Tractor Co. This company has gone out of business. I have the operator instruction book. Does anyone know who bought them out? I am looking for any other technical manuals that might be hidden somewhere, anywhere. Especially a wiring diagram. Any information as to compatible parts would also be helpful. Mechanically this is a very strong tractor. Electrically it is out of the dark ages. I would also like any information in adjusting the two position clutch that engages the PTO and the transmission.
To my knowledge nobody bought them out. They just folded up the tent. About a year ago I helped somebody find some parts. If you go to the site http://www.lenarusa.com/ you will find a number listed there. When I called the number it was some refrigeration company. They gave me a number of a company that was handling all the Lenar parts etc.
I burned out the starter trying to start the Lenar a couple of winters ago. In frustration bought a new Massey Ferguson. The dealer I bought the Massy from found a Mahindra starter that would fit the Lenar. I have a six inch chipper and a back hoe that came with the Lenar. So that's all I use it for now. Next, I plan to completely rewire the thing. Need to get the glow plug to work so it will start in cold weather. Then to adjust the PTO clutch. As I say, this is a strong mechanical tractor. Great as a power source. Tough to drive.
I have a self imported Mahindra 2525 which is based on the former Lenar 254. I know they have made a lot of changes on the tractor before rebadging it to Mahindra. The wiring is one thing and starter also, and a bunch of other stuff. But I bet that you could probably use many of the Mahindra parts to fit your Lenar. I think the interface is still the same, just new parts. I have recieved a .pdf witch pictures showing many stuff that have been change from Lenar to Mahindra, I think the alternator is also changed.
If you need a new starter and compare the old one the part no is 3708100 DAL (Mahindra starter) which is a Hitachi brand starter.
I recall I have seen the Mahindra parts book and operators manual as a pdf download at a Aussie dealer, but seems like the site is down for the moment. I will check later and look If I can find them and post the links here.
