Pressure Relief Valve on Jinma 354 Y 485

I know there is a similar post but it does not seem to fit my situation well.  I have a pressure relief valve I want to install immediately after the hydraulic pump.  I am getting rid of quick connects and it will mount in place of that about a foot from the pump in the pressure line.

Does anyone know a good location to rout the return line marked "tank" on the relief valve.  At the sump the suction line is a hard line with a banjo fitting.  The vent is a hard line with banjo fitting.  The 354 has a half remote that is only activated if the valve between your legs is closed making the three point inoperable.  I never use that half remote.  There is a quick connect on it but it can be removed.  Could that half remote be used as a return for the pressure relief valve?  My concern is the line may not drain to the sump if the valve is closed.

Otherwise is there another logical place.  The hydraulic hose from the valve will be 1/2 NPT.

Also I know there is some good dealers that sell a kit and I do buy parts from them but in this case I already have the valve.

Thanks!

My tractor is a Jinma 254 so it's not just like yours, but look around for a return line to tank from your power steering. Do you have a FEL? If so it may also have a return line. Mine is hard line with banjo fitting at the sump but further upstream it changes to hoses and fittings in order to tie to the power steering and FEL. I tied my pressure relief return in there.

I would think that the return line for the rear remote is just that, a return line. Try removing the quick connect on the left (looking from the rear) with a bucket under it, and see if it doesn't drain the reservoir.

Yes I should have mentioned it has the ZL 30 loader and stock chineese valve.  I think the line off the bottom of the loader vavle goes into the divider valve.  Wouldnt it still be high pressure?

That's still high pressure. I have one to install one my '354 as well, I was thinking along Tin's lines, tying into the rear hydraulics.

You go first, and let me know how it works – wink

Hooked up the male end of a quick connect to see if any hydraulic fluid drained out and it did not.  I certainly do not want to have a restriction in the return line.  Maybe I'll try a Folgers coffee can and some duct tape.

When I did the retrofit on my JM604 I need a return to the "tank". The only resonable option was to go in where the drain plug is. I used a 20 mm fitting and welded a 3/4 NTP end on it, then installed a tee, one side if the tee has the return from my relief valve + loader circut and the other end has a plug in it to drain the tank.

Thanks everyone.  For now I used the fill port behind the seat and installed a 3/4 nipple, T fitting, hydraulic 3/4 male to 1/2 female, 3/4 six inch pipe, and cap drilled for venting and fabricated an new dip stick for the cap.  Used it briefly and seems to work fine.
