I have a 2005 dong feng 204 .The fuel line between the lift pump on the injector pump and the fuel filter is starting to weep.It has bango fittings on both ends .I was wondering if the compression sleeves could be split and a new fuel hose be placed on the banjo fittings and high pressure hose clamps (as with throttle body inj.) be used?I do not think this part of the fuel system has less than 5 lbs. pressure.
any thoughts.

David,
That part of the primary fuel system, between the lift pump and secondary fuel filter should be operating at a nominal 20 – 25 psig. However, if the secondary filter becomes restricted or is beginning to plug up thereby increasing resistance to lift pump flow, pressures can become rather high unless the filter has a built-in by pass valve, which some do. I replaced all of my primary fuel lines with 5/16" fuel hose and regular mini-hose clamps.

ok but has anyone had luck by splitting the compression sleeves and reusing the banjo fittings ?I guess what I am asking is the barb on the banjo fitting usable with stock fuel line and hose clamps after cutting off the sleeves?

I haven't tried that with those particular fittings, but I've done it with many others having crimped sleeves and it works just fine. I've also made crimp sleeves from steel tubing and crimped them with a modified pair of Vise Grips which also worked fine on stuff with less than 200 psi pressure. If you're using a reinforced hose it takes surprisingly little clamping pressure t mae them stay on even slightly swelled nipple fitting.

well I have not done to many things easier than that.muffler cutter split the sleeves easily.and there was 2 ribs on the barb so I will call it good.
