Jinma 254 steering modification- mounting to tractor and steering knuckle

I had Farmland (Tangent, Oregon) install a Kubota loader on my JM 254.  That must have been 2001-(02?)

They welded up a box to mount the steering cylinder on the FEL platform (bolts into the tractor bell housing to hold the pockets that the FEL sits in).  A stud came out from the box and it had a crown nut to hold the cylinder.

The stud and box broke out, and I'm looking at the best option for mounting the steering cylinder.  A few years ago I posted that I broke the steering knuckle and replaced that twice.  I guess I'm pretty hard on the steering.

I screwed in an M14, grade 9.8 bolt to hold the cylinder directly into the bell housing (clutch housing) and it broke after 2 hours.  Don't do that.

I'll take a picture or two and post.

I searched for steering mods, but came up with cylinder rebuild posts (which is something that I need to do, as well.)

So, any improvements to the steering linkage (tractor-power steering cylinder-wheel knuckle)?

TIA, and I'll post pics shortly,

We should have all the parts for you to move your cylinder to the front axle. Give us a call and we will talk about it and see what we can come up with.

You might also check with Keno Tractors in Keno, Oregon. They are "local" to you. But all the vendors will probably be able to help.

You can shoot me a email via my web site and I can email you a picture of how Koyker & China loaders support the steering cylinder if you want.

Sorry to take so long to get back to this post.  Here's my fix.  I should plan to move it to the front axle this winter.  Thanks for all the replies.  I've been recommending Chinese tractors to my neighbors, based on this Forum.

Thanks again,

Scott
