Hi all. I have hydraulic oil leaking from a rear quick release coupling on my Foton 404. The oil leaks when a hose is connected into the coupling which indicates to me a leaking seal and/or leaking back up seal. Has anyone replaced seals for these couplings? How do you do it? Regards Phil.

If the QC is an OEM Chinese one, I would never bother trying to repair it – the blasted things have too high a failure rate as it is, and Chinese rubber is notoriously bad. Too many people have had the Chinese QC fittings on their loaders fail and deadhead the pump and blow it up.
Best to just replace the complete fitting with a good one from one of the quality brand name companies, I'd say.

I managed
to change the leaking seals. By using a small jeweler’s screwdriver I skewered
the rubber O-ring and pulled it out. I did not remove the back up plastic seal.
The size of the ring was 20mm x 3.5mm which I think is a R17 size. I was able
to push a new O-ring into place using my fingers. If I ever decide to replace
the complete coupling I would consider using the Flat Faced type. Apparently
there is no oil loss when this type is connected and disconnected. All good
now.

Flat faces are nice. I changed all mine over when I got the skid steer, even the Prince pump.
