As I understand, the dozer has a four spool valve (OEM). Three spools are double acting and operate the blade to raise/lower, tilt and angle. The fourth spool is single acting and operates the three point hitch.
Correct. The fourth spool acts much like a log splitter valve, and it will float if you manually hold it in position.

The Surplus Center valve has three double acting spools. Two of these spools (#2 & #3) are controlled by the joystick and I would plumb it so the joystick operates the blade to raise/lower and tilt. Spool #1 has a detented float position. I was thinking I could use this spool to operate the three point hitch in the float position when I am using the flail mower.
Nice thought but sorry. The #1 spool will give you dozer blade up, down, hold & float, #2 spool will give you right & left blade angle, and #3 spool will give you tilt. You would use the power beyond port to install a log splitter type valve for the TPH.

That leaves the blade angle. Since adjusting the blade angle is not a problem with the current OEM valve , I was thinking of modifying this valve to use just for the blade angle. I have no idea how to plumb the two valves together.
Ain't going to happen - trust me.

I hope this makes my first post clearer.
Yep, kinda...

First pic is of my TPH valves. The right one controls the up, down, down pressure, & float while the one on the left controls the hydraulic top link. It's a DA two spool valve with float.

Second pic is the new Brand dozer/loader valve I used for the blade.

Third pic shows the tilt valve which is mounted transversely and more correctly emanates the blade action.
It gets real crowded in there too.

Perhaps I didn't make my original post clear. If you choose to use the Surplus Center valve, you must completely remove the Chinese valve.

Note: Each valve or valve stack must have a return to the reservoir.

You were clear and the horse is dead. I see too many $$$$. If I did more grading with the blade then it might be worth a change. Maybe I will feel better if I just say the Chinese valve is crap!

The dozer is mainly used to clear brush so I can live with what I have. Thanks for your help.

Phil

All in all I think I have around $1,200.00 invested in my total mod of the hydraulic system, the elimination of the OEM TPH, and the hydraulic top link, and thats including cylinders, valves, hoses, adapters, and fittings. And it took me about 50 man-hours (not quite as spry as I used to be).

Ha ha, I already tried that - didn't work for me - still felt lousy.
