Just finished hauling my little dozer from SE Alaska to a southern New Mexico Apple orchard. I now need the 3 point hitch to work but it is in the up position and will not move. The control lever moves the little piston but nothing happens, anyone have an idea where to start?

Do you have any manuals for it? I'm curious if your lift box is the same as the YC series dozers. Can you take a picture of the front and rear of the under seat area? The seat will have to be removed eventually anyway.

Thanks Bob, I will try to get the seat off today and take a pic.

If it turns out to be similar to the YC series dozer, I'll send you parts and owners manuals to your email address. Just PM it to me.

Good job. Yes, it looks very similar and may be identical. When Yuchai acquired Gulin some changes were not made until much later, and some more subtle than others. I'll speculate that the piston stop was out of adjustment and allowed the piston to hyper extend and become cocked in the cylinder. You will have to remove the whole large top cover, then the solution will be quite evident. Not a bad job once you get all the hoses out of the way, but the top cover assembly is heavy, especially with the lift arms attached. Be sure to mark their location before you remove them.

If you want the manuals PM me your email address. The basic difference in the manuals is the three cylinder engine. Or you can get manuals at Northern Tool for a price.

Great, thanks for the info. I’ll dive in and see what’s up. I tried to send you a msg via Facebook but I don’t know if it worked so I will try doing it on this site if I can figure out how. Thanks again.

Nothing in my inbox here, and nothing in my Face Book page.

    Did you send it here?

I did get a message from M. Werner though, about the same subject, and it appears that I had already sent him a set of manuals.

    Bob,

Well after tearing my hair out looking for the downloaded files I've come to the conclusion it must be on my company computer in Alaska, I'm currently in New Mexico where I spend the winters.

Yes I sent you a message on your Facebook dozer page and I never have been able to figure out how to send a PM from this site. If its not too much trouble could you please resend the manuals to: mwerner1@Hotmail.com

I am headed to the orchard right now to push some dirt around to reestablish some irrigation contours for the spring planting of more apple trees. (wish I had your laser setup). After that's done I will tear into the 3 pt lift

Finally got around to working on the 3 pt lift. Took off the seat and removed all the cover bolts and now it’s loose but still have all the lines in place. Do the lines have to be disconnected and does the cover have to be completely removed to get to the piston which is hypered?

The piston is attached to the cover, so yes. You will probably have to remove the hoses, so be sure to mark them. The elbow fitting at the front of the cover is the pressure supply to the lift piston. The cover is heavy.

Well, I got her done! The piston was ok but the big cross shaft that has the lift arms attached to it was stuck due to rust. After massaging with a big hammer I was able to get the shaft out and cleaned up the bushings and after reassembly it works just fine. I ended up removing the bolts that attaches the control quadrant and tied the whole hose bundle out of the way. I did disconnect the pressure line on top of the cover and the cover was lifted out with my buddy’s help. After that it was pretty easy.
Thanks for help. This forum is a great tool for working on these machines. :yahoo:
