    CTOA FAMILY:
The family of Walter H. Barrett is sad to announce the passing of our loving dad, husband and grandfather. He passed away after a short illness. He was 83.

Walt was a visionary. He became fascinated with the Internet in its early stages, and followed his visions with passion. He was a pioneer in solar energy, micro-homes and was founder and president of China Depot, a global import company. Always self-employed and following his dreams he lived a good life. If ever a song was written describing Walt, Frank Sinatra said it best; He did it “My Way.” He lived his life in love and dignity to the very end choosing to pass with courage and dignity.

Together with his loving wife and family, Walter made a difference for so many people; raising them to heights beyond what they themselves could imagine. He had a great sense of humor, making people laugh and lifting the spirits of all who knew him. He loved helping others.

In later years he loved traveling, nature walks, photography and writing. He particularly enjoyed his annual trips to Florida where he and his wife made joyful retirement memories.

He has moved on to join loved ones lost and is rejoicing in them once more and left behind those of us who will miss him greatly. He was the only son of Annie and Walter Barrett of Lincoln, RI. He leaves behind his wife, Nancy Murphy Barrett, children Walter A. Barrett, David L. Barrett, Steven D. Barrett, John S. Barrett and Nancy L. Barrett; grandchildren Holly, Matthew, Claudia, Christian and Rachel; Adopted daughter Patricia, godchild Alison, and great granddaughter Sage Willow.

Today he is safe, healthy and happy. So we say our sad goodbyes for now, knowing we’ll meet again.

Go forth in peace Walter. Live on in joyful light. Be happy and know you’re loved and missed.

It was Mr. Barret who assisted me many years ago when I had issues with on of my first Chinese tractors. He was always helpful and offered me great insight as well. He will be missed by our online community!
