Respirator tube with a screen? Can you clarify please?

If you are referring to the little hose that is connected to the radiator cap neck it could be one of two things: 1) A defective radiator cap that isn't holding pressure. 2) A blown cylinder head gasket or cracked cylinder head or liner that is allowing combustion pressure into the cooling system and displacing the coolant.

Are you getting any coolant in the engine oil? Are you getting any engine oil in the coolant?

Okay, “respirator tube” aka crankcase breather.

Slight vapors are normal. You should not be getting coolant from there at all.

A blown cylinder head gasket, cracked cylinder head or liner, or liner seals.

Pretty good odds the head gasket is blown.?

The Y385 in your tractor is a Dry Sleeve Engine. Meaning, no coolant against the sleeve.

No doubt, water/coolant coming out of the respirator means it has mixed with the engine oil.

If the coolant has frozen… could have cracked the block or head?

You could remove the bottom of the engine oil pan …… pour water in rad and you MIGHT be able to see something before removing the head etc…??

If he is getting a stream of coolant from the “respirator tube” that completely drains the radiator and has done so several times the engine should be locked up by now with spun bearings. If it isn't locked up it soon will be.

              Something sounds fishy here.

The only way it could be getting that much coolant in the crankcase is with a BIG hole in the engine block to the crankcase area. Possible frozen block?

              Maybe a fake story.

I agree with Carl. If he was getting coolant coming out of the crankcase breather it would be locked up by now. He's just a troll…

Pull the valve cover off, under the rocker arm are some small freeze plugs, check to make sure they are in place,if one or more of them pushed out it means you did not have any antifreeze in your tractor.
