What is the actual cost difference? You have been getting 6.6 years of service from each of your previous starters. Is it worth the added expense for a 20 year old tractor you won’t be using at all? Were your old starters not rebuildable? Was the original problem the starter or just the solenoid?

Thank you for your reply.  I used to have the local tractor shop do all my work but he has retired now.

I got a hold of Tommy at Affordable tractor and got it sorted out.  My new starter is on the way.  I found from china’s ebay that the starters they sell come with rebuild kits with the starter.  This is a very good idea as they are bogus as far as I am concerned.

under your conditions put on the stock starter, and call it good.
