call Tommy back and ask them what the ohm reading should be on the sending unit cold, you will need a ohm meter to read it. The sending unit just uses one wire if I remember right so you will be reading from the post to the body of the sender(ground). if he knows the hot ohm reading you can heat up some water and immerse the unit to check the upper end also. I suppose you can just heat up some water and see if the ohm reading changes that would put you towards the gauge or the wiring to it .

That’s a first for me. I’ve seen gauges from all over the world, but never one that reads from right to left. That said, there are scripts that read from right to left: Arabic, Hebrew, N’ko (Mandekan), Syriac (Assyrian, Modern Aramaic Koine), Thaana/Thâna (Dhivehi/Maldivian), Tifinar (Tamashek), and Urdu. But I doubt that gauge has any relationship.

I guess what I was trying to say is the reading on the left is 100 and the reading on the right is 40. My assumption is that the lower number would be on the left and the larger number would be on the right. Meaning that as the water temp rises it would go towards the larger number.

yes it is just backwards as to how we normally read the gauge but 100 c is 212 f so that is the hot end what ever end it is on.

Changed gauges to American type marine gauges that are working and weather proof.
