I'm not familiar with this engine, however many overhead cam engines use shims to adjust the lifters, or adjustments on the rockers. I'll check with a few mechanic friends and see what's up. What year?

well the truck is a 86 the original engine was a 2.0 there was a blowed up 80 mustang 2.3 in it when I got it ,I traded out some backhoe work for a 90 mustang 2.3 put it in and the engine has very good oil pressure .so I took the 80 carb, manifolds and other assorted parts and got the engine running well it is just the lifter noise that I want to take care of altho maybe I should just run it till it pukes.
