Hard to go wrong with Stihl. Four strokes give you more torque per cc but don't wind up as high. All that is factored in though when it's designed. The main difference is way less emissions, easier starting and no mixing. I wonder how they conquer having oil pressure at any angle, do they have a pump, reservoir and dry sump?
No idea about longevity. If it were me I'd do just what you're doing, ask questions, google, and ask more questions.
