        my tractor 2006 504a foton had that issue in reverse gear ,but mine has a tensioning bolt that adds pressure to the roller ball spring in the 2 wheel to 4 wheel shifter.has your something like that?

          I am not sure if it has a adjusting bolt for tension the pressure spring or not, but I will check  to be sure. thanks     Wayne 1971

            David, I checked and my tractor does not have a  tension bolt that I can find . it have a fork shaft locking spring but no adjusting bolt.

              well maybe it is somrthing as simple as replacing just the spring,maybe it just lost tension memory or went limp
