I believe the parts and commonality questions can best be fielded by the dealers listed in the “Our Dealers” button at the top of the page

Also idahobob may I suggest that you join the CTOA. If you own a 284, you will need to make use of this website. Hey… it's $15 well spent. You will probably need to PM some of the members about problems. They have helped me avoid a lot of costly mistakes.  holeagain

          Just a thought… hmmm

These tractors had Yangdong engines in them until that company went out of business. The Laidong was the replacement.  We sold a lot of them and never had any serious engine problems.  I personally liked the Laidong better.  They started better in  cold climates.   Parts are no problem.  Check with affordable or circle G on this site.

Parts are no Problem we have serviced several tractors in the 1500-2000 hour range, both engines are similier. Yangdong  got bought out by YTO and are producing engines again but I think just for there tractors.

Welcome from the Tinbender, best $15.00 you can spend. Not just engine info, but everything front to back. If it happens to your tractor, it has happened to someone else on this site before. A lot of cool mods too.cool

Welcome to CTOA, Bob!  I live in the Virgin Islands so you can guess how important this site is to me.  The dealers and members here have saved me a lot of grief in the past couple years.

Welcome IdahoBob.   If you come up 41…about 5 miles north of  Blanchard take a left and cross the line into Washington.  That's where I am.

                          Welcome Bob, cool

On your way to SpringValley's place, you have to go right by mine after you take that left. You're more than welcome to stop by for a cup of coffee (or a beer).  wink
