check all the pins that hold the shifting  levers on the drive section, they have been known to partially break giving weird issues with moving the tractors.

looks like the pins are all right. i took the shaft off and had a big pair of pliers and turn the round shaft and it went into reverse and moved only about 10 feet then pop out. went back into forward fine.

            Thanks for ideas

              Bennie,

I have no experience with the shuttle shift transmissions, however reading your notes makes me think that you should be checking the internal workings of the transmission.

Below is an explanation of how the forward/reverse gears work on my Jinma 284. The information may be useful to you in inspecting your transmission.

Look for missing teeth on the gears, proper sliding, etc.

I would think that these transmissions have straight cut gears so if one is popping out you can not have much tooth engagement. Look at your shifting forks being bent or cracked or maybe a adjuster for throw. Never had one of mine apart. So it is a guess.

                  Bennie,

Did you ever check the gears in the transmission as suggested?

Been raining here and trying to get place to check them out, hope to put in a garage this week and look at them.

                    Thanks for responding
