        Not sure what you mean by “yoke holder the rod in”.

        Are you talking about a shifter fork?

        Do you have a parts manual to look at for your tractor? There were a few different designs of transmissions used over the years.

        Which gear you are replacing on which shaft?

        Post a picture if you can so we know exactly what you are describing.

          I guess he figured it out ,and I wonder what happened to the 1st gear to make it fail? guess we shall never know. another mystery of life. hahahahaha

              Have not got out yet. I found how to get the gear out but I am having touble getting he bearing out to get the gear out. I am also trying to change brake shoes which looks like a big big job.
