Around 11 years ago I bought a used standing 100'x20' greenhouse, took it apart and brought it home. I graded and graveled and used some of the hoops 4' apart and built a 30' shed, planning to put the 37 Chevy inside to work on it. The next year I invited an old friend up for a visit and ended up marrying her.
The shed became storage for her stuff that would not fit in the house. Then we brought in 96 yards of fill and added 48' of greenhouse to the end of that shed.Fast forward to this weekend calling for intermittent rain and snow. I figured I'll till the garden when I can and wire the shed/greenhouse when I can't. I somehow found all the conduit, the circuit breaker box, weatherproof outlets, thermostats, etc. that came with it. Where in the hell did the wire go? The shed is packed with stuff but the conduit was laid out where I remember putting it and everything else was in the right front of the shed just where I thought it had been left. What on earth did I do with 100' of assorted color wire?, it's only been 11 years!

You can probably find that wire down at the recycling center.
Or at the copper smelter…
Just think, if you hadn't got married you'd still have the wire.
But come to think of it, you got lucky

It warms my heart to think that I'm not the only idiot to do this
1. It's under the boxes and garbage (excuse me… HOUSEHOLD GOODS) that you piled on it.
2. It's under the fill that you buried it under when you extended the project. (I do have a cheapy metal detector you can use if you need, during your prospecting endeavors)
3. You put it in a safe place so you would remember right where it was when you got to the point that you are at right now.

I'm pretty sure you will find it after you buy some more wire at about 4+ times the cost it was 11 years ago. Hi, my name is Carl, I am a pack rat and was well trained by my mother but I have never been able to get as good as she was.
Now I try to put related items on the shelves close to each other and that helps. It's said that we never forget anything we see, read, write or say but we can't always call it up from the store house in the brain. The fact is, the brain will only release the info until after we have done something that the info is no longer needed and then it comes in a revelation of thought.

I found the wire last night
. It was in a different set of conduit next to the propane tank that came with the greenhouse. Buried under 11 years of dirt, needles,leaves and weeds. I was just about to call it quits with the weedeater last night, when it starts plowing into the dirt I know I'm tired and need to stop. Luckily that moment came right where this stuff was buried -

I about fell over pricing wire. I'll be looking for where I put mine for a LONG time before spending $150.00 or so on what would have cost $20-30.00 eleven years ago.
