I had some holes develop in my fuel tank , I think water sitting on the rubber pads underneath the lower tank supports. anyway is there any gravel from like lowes or home depot that people have had good luck using as tumbling media? I have used limestone driveway rock but I was looking for a smaller stuff , the tank is around 5 gal so not that much is needed, would I be better off with pea gravel? just throw opinions out there . thanks Dave

I like to use a length of chain. Easy to remove when done.

Some people use nuts and bolts for the same reason.

well I talked to the local tractor guy and he suggested to use the rocks , tumble and rinse then take oven cleaner spray and spray  it down good let sit for a while and see if it cleaned the tank well enough. And yeah it did a pretty good job. So I washed it with acetone and used red kote to line the tank . then used harbor freight aerosol bed liner spray on the outside of and I guess we shall see.

well with the tank repair everything worked out ok , been a few days and I see no further leaks . I  must have brazed up a dozen pinholes. All went well with lining the tank with rede kote looks like very good adhesion to the sides and bottom. So hopefully this will be the first and last time tank repair.

I have noticed that the sediment filter when running at speed has a turblance in the bowl that looks like air swirling. When it runs at a idle none of this is seen. With the fuel on and the tractor off there is no fuel leaks which makes me think when running it should not be sucking air. It might be me but it seems to be loosing power ,fuel starving at higher rpms’s. got any ideas? all filters, screens are good.

well I kinda  got this figured out, I had replaced the orginal fuel sediment bowl with a ford 8n type sediment bowl. I can not use the reserve function since it is not screwed into the tank bottom. I plumbed it into the fuel line itself with a adapter fitting, So I turned the thumbwheel all the way out and just use it as a on and off valve . well I guess there is the issue. When I turn in the thumbwheel in to the reserve setting the turblance disappears, turn it out and it comes back, so why it is swirling between the two pickups I aint gotta clue, but it is. wierd!
