heah, I see that, If I remember right there was a issue with some of these tractors with the bolts that hold the trans. on getting loose and effecting the clutch engagement, but but I do not remember the details, it was on this forum if you can find it . I know some of the forum history was lost years ago. So I guess that there is no free pedal left? I think I set mine at about 1 inch or so.
remember while in there to inspect that ring gear on the flywheel, funny I see the response from piper but no question on forum, wierd?
after you found out how to release the pressure on the lift did the steering issue remain or did it straighten it self out too??
glad to read that you were able to relieve the system without alot of disassembly.
as best as I know ,yes the spring around the seal lips goes toward the pressure. I have seen where two seals were stacked for some reason and the same direction on both were as above also. yeah 14 years is beyond the best used by date. hahahaa
just as a thought you might want to consider one of the chinese tractors I have had just a filter screen I believe on the return line for filteration. I had no idea what the micron rating was . So I bought a approperate filter housing and a 10 micron hydraulic filter with a more than ample flow rate and replaced the screen filter. If you have room to do this it might be a improvement from stock and easier to repalce a screw on filter than to disassemble a filter housing and clean the screen and dump the whole hydro system. since you will need to drain the system now would be the time to consider this.
Is that a steering cylinder? I know this is apples and oranges but a factory seal kit for my log splitter was 200 bucks, I measured and guessed and got a generic repair kit off amazon 10 bucks perfect fit. so it might be well worth measuring and doing some searching around. oh what tractor is that on?

How many working hours and what major repairs have you done? #50373there is nothing wrong running propane for sure ,everything engine wise lasts longer, the only downside is a slight power loss over gas. I guess where you are at you do not have clay soil, if slightly wet clay would never come out of a 4 inch bucket, sometime it sticks bad enought in my 24 incher. 2 miles hope you never have to look for a leak, so I assume that you are running a fluid thru a heat exchanger ? for climate control.
