ok but has anyone had luck by splitting the compression sleeves and reusing the banjo fittings ?I guess what I am asking is the barb on the banjo fitting usable with stock fuel line and hose clamps after cutting off the sleeves?

If you can locate a diesel compression gauge that would be best about eliminating the head gasket,it will tell you the cylinder involved,if there is a defect.I know harbor freight has a cheap one and I assume that one of the adapters will go into the glow plug or injector hole. But I do not know for sure. How many hours are on the machine and did the head get retorqued after so time was ran on the tractor.

I saw the hardy diesel stuff advertised in the back of mother earth news several years ago.If I remember around 2005 I looked at their website, maybe it is still up.

a  good hydro shop can straighten out the arms and replace the seals and take out some of the burring you added.

I see plugged fittings and a single wire delco in your future just make sure that there is not any part of the oil path does not starve another part of the engine, maybe to be safe tube between the 2 fittings

I would say if your clutch works fine just make sure that you have no tension on the clutch when it is released mine has a return spring that holds the pedal up to the floor board so push on it by hand while looking at the pedal rods there should be about 1/2 inch min.of travel before the clutch rods start to engage the clutch.that is how my 2005  foton 504a  is anyway.and when running the pto see if it can run with the clutch half way released but the tractor drive line still clutched.
