harbor freight has a cheap inspection camera you might want to consider to look thru the injector holes to see the cylinder walls or do it the old fashion way and pull the head to see whats there, good luck

a lot of people on this site have complained about the stock quick connect couplers.i think most would suggest changing them out for pioneers couplers.

one thing you might consider if you are needing more than 14 amps change the alt. if you are not adding more electronical load use the stock type.

I have 2  chinese tractors a 20 hp and a 50 hp with different engine manufactures and they both have high pressure at first,so let them warm up some first before turning the rpm's up . I think your oil pressures are what you should have now.

when you are turning the engine over there should be quite a difference audibly when the compression release is engaged vs. not being used.

but having done a valve adj.those linkages are a pain, and might not be right.

I think you might have a leaking cylinder ,there is a flow adjusting knob somewhere around your seat ,that can adjust the release of oil out of the lift .this controls how fast the lift falls acording to lift implement weight.

as a rule do not leave knob completely closed off.

I do not know exactly what it should be ,but 25 seems low at running speed.check around the oil filter housing there might be a oil pressure adj.screw there,it is under a acorn nut.that might be able to help you out.Just as a guess 50 psi would be a good pressure on a engine at operating temp.and operating rpm.are you using 15/40 diesel oil?

back to the priming ,once you get the pump back together is the fuel tank much higher than the pump ,maybe you can let gravity do its thing when you crack the banjo fitting. I have seen it done with 3 to 5 lbs of air pressure in the fill neck of the fuel tank. Then turn the engine over and crack the injector lines to let the air out.It is easier with 2 people.Try to be easy on the starter, keep the cranking time to a minium, easier said than done.good luck
