I have found one advantange on those shields when bush hoggin real high stuff not near as much junk gets wound around that front u joint.
It could be a filter,fuel more than air,but I assume you would have seen if the water in fuel light is on, I have a 96 and it was acting as you describe there was a small leak on the suction side of the lift pump hose to the tank .the hose was only about 3 inches long.I found it by trying to pump up fuel to the filter and heard a slight hisss of it sucking air.I know your 2003 is different some but how much I do not know.
it is all gear to gear in the front of the engine there is posts and pictures on the site showing how things are timed and marked on the gears
well if you are torquing the head it is time to set the valves to so it is just a few more steps to get it all done
if you have a engine crane go to several bolts with chain and lift it easy get some tension and maybe tap it with a good size brass hammer or I have used a slide hammer to loosen heads and other stuck parts
I think that they have a sticky type blown recylced newspaper insul .treated with borax .not supposed to burn well and bugs do not like it. I think the r value per inch is pretty good on it too.
Now let me say this I am located only 4 miles from ga. in tn. and r-13 is good here .I would say that would be very minimal in nd. how about foam to stick to the metal to prevent sweating then some sort batten inslu over it.I have never heard of it being done and how much in cost savings?? would it be worth it,but a idea good or bad do not know.
I saw a program that said the first diesel engine adolph diesel made ran on coal dust has anyone else saw or read this? I think they showed a picture of it and it was fairly large stationary type single cyl.
when you get the other torque wrench find a bolt that it real tight set the one to a couple different readings and compare the reading to the one you left loaded you might get lucky. you might be in the + – window.
that is the down side expense,but foam is the best on metal no sweating.I was going to use foam them I stumbled on free insul batting that is meant for metal bldgs it is 5 ft wide and instead of a paper back it is covered on one side with something that reminds me of house wrap.but it does sweat some.But it sure makes a big difference in cooling and heating.I think it is rated at r-13.
